Twice as Nice – Five Benefits of Adopting a Bonded Pair of Animals

Thinking about adopting a dog or cat? You may want to consider a bonded pair. Bonded pairs have formed a deep, special connection and are essentially best furry friends for life. They may be littermates, or they may have met in a foster home or during their stay at a shelter, where they comforted each other in an unfamiliar place.

There are a number of benefits to adopting two animals that have already established a relationship with one another:

  • Bonded pairs help each other adjust to their new home, providing comfort and security – especially if they are shyer or quieter animals.

  • You won’t have to worry about getting another friend for your pet in the future and whether they will get along.

  • Bonded pairs have a constant companion and playmate around to entertain and tire each other out, which often reduces loneliness and destructive behavior, especially when the owner is away from home.

  • Adopting a bonded pair means double the entertainment, companionship and unconditional love.

  • When you adopt a bonded pair, you are freeing up not one, but TWO spots in a shelter, enabling them to help even more animals in need. It’s the gift that keeps on giving!

Of course, you’ll need to consider the costs for daily essentials and medical care for both animals.  But if you have the means and space, please consider welcoming a bonded pair into your home and heart.
